My philosophy is simple: when I’m up on that stage, I only have 5 minutes to save the world.
I’d better be eloquent. I’d better be clear. I’d better be funny as hell, just in case I screw up.
Your chance to save the world is here. And you don’t even need a cape (though, a snuggy may help).
There are plenty of ways to save the world. Ignite is my favorite. Here’s what a few other Sparkers have had to say:
“After watching my first Ignite Fort Collins, I was inspired to do it myself. I made it a New Years resolution. Now, most people shy away from public speaking. In fact public speaking routinely ends up on the list of things that terrify, along with Zombies and getting cavities filled.
I would have considered myself in the that group. And thats why I did it. To show myself that I could face my fear. Fear of what, I can’t even remember now…”
”Go for it! Everyone will get something wonderful out of Ignite including you!”
“Ignite is fantastic opportunity to share your experiences to an enthusiastic group of artists, designers, and professional nerds. I loved speaking at this event, it was a blast!”
“I learned that while presenting an Ignite talk can be a very tricky thing to do with the rigid format, the audience is one of the warmest you will ever encounter during a public speaking event.
Don’t use bullet points, stick to the main idea, and don’t practice too much. Let it flow and let your passion out! You never know who will appreciate your talk afterwards when they are newly enlightened.”
You can only submit a talk idea until Wednesday at NOON. Get on it, superhero!
